ICAA Going All-in for Wellness

By Articles, Company
Once again, SportsArt was privileged to be a part of the latest Think Tank hosted by the International Council of Active Aging (ICAA). During this forum, industry leaders met to discuss tangible ways that organizations can work to shape and evolve their culture to fully commit to wellness-based senior care. While there has been a general cultural shift toward wellness, there has not been any tangible pathways or guidelines to assist organizations with ‘going all-in’ to serve the active aging population. Download the Think Tank Report and find ways your organization can ‘go all-in’ for wellness today. Here at SportsArt, we were so excited to bring our unique perspective to this discussion and contribute to an actionable plan with the other forum colleagues during this Think Tank. From this discussion, ICAA was able to outline the outcome as a report that provides the steps that can help guide the following elements of an organization: culture, leadership team, belief systems, financial models and staffing models. We believe that when we move, we change the world. This is why we cannot wait to put these findings into practice within our own company culture in order to continue strengthening our own brand value, one that is rooted in the belief that serving others is more important than ourselves.

The 17th Annual ICAA Forum Think Tank

By Articles, Company
We were once again honored to be part of the latest Think Tank hosted by the International Council on Active Aging (ICAA). At this forum, the discussion centered around an emerging business model: Today’s innovative senior living organizations are moving toward a wellness lifestyle, with options for care. While this is ultimately a better and healthier choice for the active aging community, it poses challenges in terms of costs. Think Tank participants worked together to create actionable strategies for funding this new wellness model. This is a topic near and dear to the heart of SportsArt. Our focus has always been on serving the health and wellbeing of our users, our partners and our community. Being part of this forum enabled us to put our values to work in tangible ways by contributing ideas and insights that truly inspire performance for our shared world. Based on the wellness philosophy of a purposeful and engaged life for all residents, customers and staff members, SportsArt along with our forum colleagues identified 11 funding sources, 21 wellness metrics and five categories of Key Performance Indicators. Offer Programming that Offers Value

By Healthy Living, Products
You probably offer a wide range of quality programming to serve the needs of your members. But today’s socially conscious members and fitness enthusiasts demand an inspiring experience that goes above and beyond to match their values and lifestyle. That’s where SportsArt comes in. We share similar values, and can give you an edge when it comes to attracting and retaining consumers.  By simply incorporating innovative ECO-POWR™ energy-generating cardio equipment into your programming, you can create a unique experience that seamlessly integrates social responsibility into popular and familiar programs.  Interval Training is a Great Place to Start Interval training has become, and remains, a favorite workout regimen for many people for many reasons. The benefits of briefly pushing your body, then letting it recover, then pushing it again are well known. Research has shown that interval training helps improve cardiovascular and respiratory health, reduce fat and control glucose. Studies have even shown that this type of training could have additional benefits for older adults, namely reversing signs of aging within cells. The brevity of interval training is also an appealing aspect. Instead of investing hours and hours into long workouts, results can be seen through much shorter workout increments, making interval training appealing for today’s busy lifestyles. And, even within interval training programs, there’s no rigid requirements. Programs can be as flexible as needed to meet the needs of groups and individuals. So how can you make interval training even more attractive, engaging and inspiring? Match Your Equipment to Member Values SportsArt…

Moving Your Body is Good for Your Mental Health

By Articles, Healthy Living
We’ve all experienced it: you finish up an intense workout or pleasant stroll through the park and your body is tired, but mentally you feel amazing. Naturally, you feel good about reaching goals, staying active, and focusing on your health. But it turns out that physical activity is indisputably linked with mental health benefits. And now, we need those mental health benefits more than ever. According to Mental Health America and their 2021 report, “The State of Mental Health in America,”the prevalence of mental illness among adults was increasing even before COVID-19. Now, the number of people looking for help with anxiety and depression has skyrocketed. “From January to September 2020, 315,220 people took the anxiety screen, a 93 percent increase over the 2019 total number of anxiety screens. 534,784 people took the depression screen, a 62 percent increase over the 2019 total number of depression screens.” The good news is that we can all improve our mental wellbeing simply by moving. The John W. Brick Mental Health Foundation states it simply: “Three decades of science make it clear: exercise should be integrated into prevention and treatment of mental illness and promotion of mental wellness. “ In their 80-page, “Move Your Mental Health Report”, they found that “approximately 89% of all published peer-reviewed research report a positive, statistically significant relationship between exercise/physical activity and mental health.” That’s huge. Of course, an 80-page report is also huge. We didn’t really want to sift through that data either, but luckily for us, IHRSA…

What It Means To Live Our Values

By Uncategorized
SportsArt was built on the fundamental foundation that serving others is more rewarding than serving ourselves. Since the beginning our goal has always been to leave the world a better place—through our products, our corporate practices, and our community outreach. The most apparent expression of our values is sustainability. Our ECO-POWR™ line is the world’s first and only energy-generating cardio equipment. Our ECO-NATURAL™ line completely eliminates the need for electricity with self-powered cardio equipment, or significantly reduces electricity usage through our innovative ECO-DRIVE™ energy-efficient motor. Our commitment to sustainable solutions extends beyond products. Our latest manufacturing facility incorporates a number of energy-saving and resource-conservation elements. Large rainwater collection tanks provide water used in the manufacturing process. Solar panels generate half of the electricity the facility uses in a year. And special solar-reflective glass reduces the amount of energy required to cool the building. We’ve also made a few simple changes that make a big difference, like using sustainable cleaning products, drastically reducing the number of printed materials we create, and using reusable/compostable utensils in our offices. But sustainability is just one of the many ways that we live our values. SportsArt’s rehabilitation equipment helps patients and individuals who are physically unable to use standard cardio machines. Our equipment assists and enables people to regain or retain their ability to walk and improve their overall physical fitness levels. But beyond the physical aspect, what our rehabilitation equipment truly does is help people envision—and accomplish—what they can do instead of focusing on…

ECO-POWR™ — Green Fitness Solutions for Green Living

By Featured Facilities, Products
While many corporations are just now reevaluating or establishing their sustainability practices, “being green” has been at the center of everything SportsArt does since the beginning. Our goal has always been to leave the world a better place through our products, corporate practices, and community outreach. That’s why we’re excited to work with Casata, a socially and environmentally conscious company that shares our values.  We knew that our ECO-POWR™ line of cardio equipment would be the perfect fit, helping Casata communities in their goal to generate a more significant impact in society. Every ECO-POWR™ product incorporates our innovative technology that converts up to 74% of human energy into usable electricity. This enables Casata communities to reduce their carbon footprint and empowers their residents to make a difference every time they work out. The energy generated from each workout can be used immediately, helping provide power for AC units, lights, televisions, and anything else that requires electricity. At SportsArt, we also believe that sustainability shouldn’t come at the cost of quality, durability, or user experience. All of our equipment is built to a higher standard—ours. In fact, to ensure the highest quality, we manufacture our equipment ourselves (we’re one of the largest single-brand manufacturers in the world). That gives us complete control and infuses our values and integrity into every product we make.  Of course, none of that matters if we’re not providing the experience, the intensity, and the results residents expect. Whether they’re hitting the treadmill, elliptical, upright bike or…

The Rise Of Sustainable Fitness

By Uncategorized
The word sustainability gets thrown around quite a bit and it can mean different things to different people especially when it relates to fitness. Webster defines sustainability as:   Sustainable Fitness So how does that apply to the fitness industry? Gym goers, owners, and operators alike are developing a deeper appreciation for the importance of mindfulness, wellness, and sustainability as it relates to fitness. With the number 1 wellness trend for 2018 being planetary healing, the time to combine people, planet, and profits in your gym could not be better. With cycling, HIIT, group training and more options growing everyday consumers are navigating where to establish their membership. Gyms that embrace sustainable fitness provide consumers the opportunity to flex their purchasing power to choose environmentally-friendly gyms and seek out facilities that mirror their wellness lifestyles and mindsets. Sustainable fitness begins and ends with ECO-POWR™; a revolutionary green technology for the fitness industry. Equipment like our VERDE treadmill and G510 Indoor Cycle function like normal pieces of equipment, but, in reality, they are each their own human power plants. Throughout a normal workout, the energy you produce is captured and converted into utility grade electricity. Approximately 74% of the electricity generated during a workout instantly goes to power your facility, reducing the number of watts needed from your utility company. This not only lowers your facilities carbon footprint but it also saves you a bit of money. The latest additions to the ECO-POWR line The savings and opportunities that come from implementing…
