WHAT CAN YOUR EQUIPMENT HANDLE?

Constantly seeking to advance industry standards, we have positioned ourselves as the premier manufacturer
of quality commercial and medical fitness equipment. With over 500,000 square feet of state-of-the-art
manufacturing space, we design, manufacture and test all equipment to rigorous quality standards.
With over one hundred patents worldwide for innovation technologies such as the award winning
ICARE Rehabilitation System and the world’s first ECO-POWR™ Equipment Series, we are the leading
green fitness partner, developing products that are instrumental to rebuilding and sustaining lives.
Using innovation and technology to make the best fitness equipment, SportsArt technology is advanced in all
aspects, including factory design, production process and final product. Robotic welders, computerized
inventory management, multiple computerized powder coat lines and an atmosphere control room for electronic
testing are used in the SportsArt factory to ensure consistency and quality. In addition to ISO-9001
quality certification, ISO-14001 certification for environmentally sound practices, and ISO-13485
Certification for Quality Managements Systems, SportsArt products are also CE and ETL-C approved.
SportsArt has won industry awards for our unwavering support of commercial fitness partners and clients.

MECHANICAL AND HUMAN TESTING

SportsArt products undergo rigorous testing to ensure reliable performance. Machine testing investigates component life for continuous quality improvement. Human testing investigates safety and ergonomic issues
in the design stage.
Throughout the process, from design to production, our products receive rigorous testing to the same international quality standards (ISO-9001/9002) used at Mercedes and BMW. At SportsArt, improvements are made continually to meet the changing expectations of our customers.

ROBOT TREADMILL TEST

To imitate the effects of running time and time again, our SportsArt test lab developed a robotic “treadmill tester” — which is basically a 500 lb (226 kg) octopus. This machine runs on the treadmills for 5 hours around the clock at a speed of 5.5 mph (8.85 kph), with only an hour break in between each stint. The combination of high-impact, heavy foot plant speed and the simulation of a heavy user allow us to test the deck, roller bearings, and belts for wear, as well as the motor for heat.
The combination of high-impact, heavy foot plant speed and the simulation of heavy user allow us to test the deck, roller bearings, and belts for wear, as well as the motor for heat build-up and amp draw when under extreme stress. In order to pass this test, component life must exceed 15,000 miles (24,140 km) — roughly 10 miles per day for 4.5 years.

TIRE BOUNCE TEST

Tire bouncing isn’t as silly as it sounds. This test is designed to imitate the reoccurring force of impact that occurs on commercial treadmills every day.  The wheel/hydraulic testing robot drops the tire with a force of 300 lbs (136 kg) 1,800 times per hour. That’s 43,200 times per 24 hour period! This is done to ensure our treadmills can withstand the constant abuse. In order to pass, the treadmill must survive 3 months worth of impacts (4,000,000) with no component or motor breakdowns.

INCLINE FATIGUE LOAD TEST

In this test, 800 lbs (362 kg) of steel plates are placed on the usual striking zone of the belt. The treadmills are then inclined to the maximum of 15 degrees, then brought back down to a decline of -3 degrees every 60 seconds. This happens 1,440 times each day. To pass this test, the lift motor must function flawlessly for at least 130,000 cycles. This guarantees our treadmills can rise to the occasion for every workout.

RESISTANCE TEST

SportsArt testing lab is indeed impressive with every category of product tested extensively and in a variety of ways. In this commercial bike test the
axle turns at 50 rpm at maximum resistance level for 1,000,000 revolutions. The primary purpose is to measure consistency of resistance and watts.
Secondary purposes include verifying the consistency of the magnet mechanism as well as making sure there are no component failures.

BIOMECHANICAL TESTING

No product is made without consideration of the human being that uses it. A study conducted on the S776 Pinnacle Trainer concluded that
all motions in the exercise were safe on joints and that the unit provides beneficial training effects that can’t be attained on other equipment.

ELECTRICAL TESTING

SportsArt performs a variety of electrical tests to ensure our products meet the highest standards for safety and compliance. Some of our
advanced electrical testing includes:
Frame Ground Impedance Test:
Integrity of welds can be measured via electronic resistance. Bad welds show or have high resistance. Good welds have low resistance. In this test, resistance is measured from the ground connector to a far screw hole, checking the integrity of welds throughout the product. SportsArt products meet the standard.
Electric Fast Transient Test:
Circuits must be designed to withstand electrical interference. In this test, pulses of power are applied to the machine. The product must not freeze up, crash,
or otherwise malfunction. In all tests, product operations carried on normally despite the application of current. SportsArt products pass on all accounts.
Electrostatic Discharge Test:
Static electricity is naturally generated and can damage electronics. In electrostatic discharge tests, static electricity is discharged via a special test gun directly
to metal parts and to the air around components. The product must not freeze up, crash, or otherwise malfunction. In all tests, SportsArt product operations carry on normally despite the application of static electricity.
Current Leakage Test:
The current leakage test ensures that leakage falls well below acceptable thresholds. SportsArt products pass each test.
