'Change Begins Inside'
Dallas and Christy Neil thrive on helping people be their best selves and use their master’s degrees in business to consult with small businesses to help them grow into successes. As a former NFL player and personal trainer, opening a gym provided the perfect opportunity to combine their passions for fitness, business, and helping others with personal growth.
The Source Missoula was founded in 2014 with the mantra ‘Change Begins Inside’ as a way to bring together their passions in both helping the community move towards a healthier lifestyle and Missoula’s goal of becoming a zero-waste community by 2050.

OUR VISION AT THE HEALTH CLUB IS ‘CHANGE BEGINS INSIDE’. OUR PASSION IS TO SEE PEOPLE WHO MAY COME IN WITH THE IDEA TO BECOME LIKE A PICTURE IN A MAGAZINE BUT TO REALLY START TO DEVELOP INTERNALLY, A MINDSET OF BECOMING HEALTHY AND BECOMING THEIR BEST VERSION OF THEMSELVES.

Green cardio section
On Earth Day 2018, The Source launched a new cardio section with the motivation to “steward what we have been given”. The new green area incorporated seven pieces of SportsArt’s ECO-POWR™ fitness equipment which is able to harness a member’s workout and produce electricity–establishing The Source as Montana’s first gym capable of harvesting human energy.
In addition to the equipment, The Source also incorporated the SA WELL+™ system which allows the club to display how many watts are being generated in the green area and how each individual’s workout is contributing to the facility’s reduction in carbon emissions.
AS SOON AS WE LAUNCHED THE GREEN AREA ALONG WITH MAKING SOME INTERNAL CHANGES,
WE NOTICED MEMBERS THAT VALUE ECO-FRIENDLY CAME OUT OF THE ‘WOODWORK.'

Member reactions
Adding the layer of sustainability to each member’s workout has opened up lines of communication between both the members and staff of The Source. Seeing their individual impact and the cumulative effect of the facility has sparked curiosity in the member’s minds, causing them to proactively seek out more knowledge on sustainable gym and life habits.
With local Earth Day coverage, word quickly got out beyond the general member base and into the surrounding community. The Source has experienced new levels of engagement from both current members and the surrounding community, allowing them to reach a much wider audience and spread the word of a green revolution.
WE HAVE FOUND THAT PEOPLE HAVE JOINED OUR CLUB JUST
FOR THE FACT THAT WE ARE MAKING AN EFFORT IN GOING GREEN.
